Fireside Chat: In Defense of Fear – The Musings of a Serial Over Thinker

Join AIGA Baltimore at Judge’s Bench in Ellicott City on April 1st, as we are excited to introduce a new event format to our lineup! The Fireside Chat is an opportunity for you to bring your ideas to the table, in an open and inviting space (think Open Mic for Creatives). Got an idea you want to share? Bring it! Have a question you’d like answered? Ask it! Want feedback on a presentation, or design you’re working on? Now is your chance! Topic submissions for Fireside Chats are open to all (by emailing: programming@baltimore.aiga.org) and will be selected on a first-come first-served basis.

For our first Fireside Chat, AIGA Baltimore’s Incoming President, Joseph Carter-Brown, will be debuting his latest talk, In Defense of Fear, where he explores people's instinct to retreat from fear, and challenges them to instead embrace, even enjoy their fears. Joe will share some personal and anecdotal accounts, as well as his own struggles with: impostor syndrome, a fear of success, and procrastination. Sharing how his experience in becoming friends with his fears has positively impacted his career and personal life/relationships, making him a better & more empathetic person.

This event is FREE and open to the public, however space is limited (up to 15), so please be courteous to others and plan to attend if you register.

The Judge’s Bench is in the heart of historic Old Ellicott City. Free parking is available on streets as well as nearby lots.
