Raising the Game: Creativity Through Collaboration at Under Armour

This event is SOLD OUT.

Look behind any of the most impactful creative projects and you’ll most likely find a group of passionate people who collaborated to raise each other’s game, taking their work to the next level. That's especially true at Under Armour.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how Under Armour’s Team Sports in-house creative team thinks, develops, and executes projects that are helping shape a growing multi-billion dollar company. We will hear from Sean Flanagan, Group Creative Director at Under Armour, on his team’s approach to collaboration, including how they worked with internationally renowned illustrators to create an impactful, carefully crafted, multi-channel campaign to celebrate the start of a new football season.

Together with special guest illustrator Zombie Yeti (aka Jeremy Packer), they will give an inside view of the strategy, conception, and execution of the resulting creative, including five limited edition screenprint posters created in partnership with Ken Taylor, Oliver Barrett, Cesar Moreno, and more. Plus, you will have the chance to win a full set of posters at the event!

This is a Baltimore Design Week 2016 event sponsored by TCG and part of INitiative, a joint program presented by AIGA and TCG.

About Zombie Yeti

Born and raised in the cornfields of northern Indiana, Zombie Yeti had no choice but to escape the maize via a steady diet of comic books, cartoons, movies, music, and video games. It describes its work by defining a new term; a self proclaimed movement called ‘Esoteric Americana’. On the surface its style reflects its love of comic books and cartoons – with a dash of humor, an emphasis on story, character, silhouette, and line. While beneath, its aesthetic results resemble a twisted take on representations of traditional art.

It has had the pleasure to work with top tier companies such as Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Hasbro, and many more. It has also produced works with many greats in the music world such as Foo Fighters, DeadMau5, Deftones, Kid Rock, Incubus, Paul McCartney, Primus, Faith No More, Melvins and many more. Most recently, it created the art packages for the Ghostbusters Pinball Machines. It also likes Circus Peanuts…

About Under Armour

It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance.

Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear® when it's hot, ColdGear® when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear® between the extremes.

Under Armour's mission is to make all athletes better through passion, design, and the relentless pursuit of innovation.
