This fall, Baltimore’s 6th Annual Design Week is back! Join us in October for another week-­long celebration of design and designers in Baltimore.

From Monday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 21, enjoy a series of presentations, workshops, and social events, all curated to inspire, strengthen, and showcase the Baltimore design community.

Natasha Jen kicks off the event, sharing insights from her work at Pentagram such as the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream rebrand and the Border City project. Join AIGA Baltimore and Bowie State University for as they host ex-Minister of Culture for the Black Panthers, Emory Douglass who will discuss the intersection of Design and Activism.

Emory Douglas became politically involved at the age of 24 as Revolutionary Artist and then Minister of Culture for the Black Panther party. Mr. Douglas™s powerful images portrayed through the party™s newspapers, posters and pamphlets spoke to social injustices experienced by black and other oppressed people in the U.S. and around the world. While his works often address issues of race, it also exudes empowerment in the face of poverty, discrimination, and imperialism.
