The worlds of design and food collide as designers turn their attention to all aspects of food culture. Where there once was a specific focus on simply creating food, there is now an emphasis on designing the whole food experience, from the ingredients, to the culinary process, to the environment within which the food is served. We invite you to join us as we celebrate this design trend at The Fork & Wrench, a self-described boutique dive bar and restaurant located in Canton.
Throughout the evening, you will enjoy your choice of items from a specially selected prix fixe menu of three courses, featuring a prologue (appetizer), main body (main course), and epilogue (dessert). Over the courses of the night (pun intended!), you will also enjoy a presentation by local designer, Wesley Stuckey, and a few words from the co-founder of The Fork & Wrench, Andy Gruver.
Soda, tea, and coffee is also included, as well as gratuity for the evening’s services. An optional wine pairing package is available for pre-purchase. A la carte beer, wine and the Fork & Wrench’s famous, not-so-classic cocktails will be available for purchase during the dinner.
About Fork & Wrench
Now in its third year, the Fork and Wrench offers exceptionally creative, locally-sourced New American fare and unique cocktails amid vintage fixtures and tools. Its carefully crafted food and thoughtful presentation style has even landed the restaurant a spot on the Travel Channel’s “Best Places to Eat in Baltimore” and a feature review in the Baltimore Sun.
Andy Gruver is the co-owner of the space and a trained visual artist, who crafted the restaurant branding and unique space for The Fork & Wrench using reclaimed wood and architectural elements.
About Wesley Stuckey
Wesley is a designer, printmaker, and educator originally from Mississippi, now living and working in Baltimore. He has extensive experience with restaurant branding and design, and his local projects include The Owl Bar, Dooby’s, and Milk & Honey, to name a few. His work has been published extensively and shown in exhibitions across the country.
Design and Dine for a Good Cause
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the Maryland Food Bank. Attendees who bring two canned food items to donate will also be entered to win a prize drawing.
