Let's create a city where design thrives! And let's do it by making design attainable, by proving its impact, and by uniting people more deeply in Baltimore with each other. If you have a desire to see our community grow and flourish then we urge you to join us for our next community meeting.
On March 22, AIGA Baltimore and the national AIGA Women Lead Initiative (WLI) invite you to learn more about this new initiative, hear what other chapters are doing, and discuss how you can help contribute to WLI on a local level.
The AIGA Women Lead Initiative (WLI) is committed to empowering women in design and advancing the vital discourse on issues facing professional women today without generalizing or segregating women designers. Instead, we aim to address persistent biases and inequities inclusively and constructively through programming around three goals:
Celebrate the achievements of women in design.
Cultivate awareness of gender-related issues, while building knowledge and leadership skills.
Connect by facilitating relationships within and beyond the design industry.
Who should attend?
6:30-6:45 pm - Mix & Mingle
6:45-7:00 pm - Welcome, Announcements, Introduction to the Women Lead Initiative
7:00-7:15 pm - Mapping out our path to impact. What is your journey? What is your current level of engagement?
7:15-8:00 pm - Case Study: How are other cities tackling this issue? Where could AIGA Baltimore have the most impact locally? We want your input and feedback! Help us identify any pain points/challenges or unseen opportunities.
8:00-8:30 pm - How might we develop a meaningful program for women designers in the Baltimore area? How can these ideas intersect with what you’re already doing?
We’re strong believers that through collaboration and conversation we can work together solve complex problems. Our community meetings are a place for us to connect with members and non-members, but more importantly engage everyone in conversation. Come prepared to share your thoughts, questions, ideas!
This event is FREE and open to the public, however space is limited (up to 40), so please be courteous to others and plan to attend if you register.
