The Bawlmer Studio Stroll: Let’s show AIGA’s national leadership how Baltimore gets down
At the end of May, representatives from AIGA’s 72+ chapters will arrive in Baltimore to attend Lead By Design, AIGA’s National Leadership Retreat. To kick off the conference and give a hearty “Welcome to Bawlmer, Hon!” to this awesome group of design leaders, AIGA Baltimore is hosting an evening of studio tours followed by a mix and mingle at the Motor House Showroom. All members of the AIGA Baltimore chapter, our design community, and a few special guests, are invited to join us in this unique opportunity to meet AIGA’s community of design leaders from across the nation.
The evening will begin at 4:30 pm at MICA’s Social Design Center in the Fred Lazarus IV Center on North Avenue. From there we’ll stroll down the street to The SNF Parkway Theater, where we’ll be joined by Post Typography, the design team responsible for the theater’s new look as well as the super fun leadership retreat graphics. After a tour of their studio a little farther north, we’ll return to North Avenue to visit our friends at Impact Hub Baltimore, Baltimore Print Studios (don’t forget some $$ for prints), finally making our way to the Neighborhood Design Center in the Motor House directly across from MICA. Make sure to check out Graffiti Alley behind the Motor House before it gets dark, then make your way back inside to the Showroom Cafe & Bar for drinks, food and fun.
The Showroom Cafe & Bar serves their full menu until 10 pm (including breakfast) and has plenty of space both inside and out for AIGAers to socialize, as well as an opportunity to break out of your introverted shell on stage at their Open Mic Night. Enter the Showroom through the Motor House lobby at 120 W North Avenue.
Come out for the entire evening or join us at the Showroom at the end of our studio stroll. We can’t wait to share our local community with our national AIGA family!
