Community Meeting: Working Session

Community Meeting: Open Working Session

Join us at Open Works on March 11th for our first Open Working Session: a chance to get things done with free WiFi, great company, and a collaborative environment. Make strides on your side hustle, or work directly with the AIGA Baltimore board on some of our biggest projects of the year!

Our goal is to make design attainable, to prove its impact, and to unite people more deeply in Baltimore with each other. If you have ideas, the AIGA Baltimore Community Meeting is the perfect place to make your voice heard. Everyone is welcome—members, non-members, designers, non-designers, and beyond. If you have a desire to see our community grow and flourish then we urge you to join us. Whether you're new to the area, new to AIGA, ready to get involved, or just curious about what's going on in the Baltimore creative community, this monthly meeting is a great place to get started.

What to expect:

We’re shaking up our normal bimonthly Community Meeting with a working session. You, as an attendee, will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and skills to our biggest events of the year while connecting with other creatives. We want to make sure everyone gets what they want out of these meetings, so please contact us if you have a topic to discuss. Bring your sketchbook, laptop, and thinking hat and help shape the activities of the upcoming year!

The Projects:

1. Design Week

Baltimore Design Week is an annual celebration of design in Baltimore, occurring in October. To make it happen, planning starts now! Voice your ideas for content during the week, help choose venues and speakers, and talk about this year’s theme. Check out last year’s BDW.

2. Ink & Pixels

Ink & Pixels is one of AIGA Baltimore’s largest events of the year, with a focus on helping designers prepare for a career or career shift. Happening in one big day in April, we’ll combine portfolio reviews, professional development, inspirational speakers, and more. Help map out the day’s schedule, update creative assets for promotions, secure sponsors, draft social media posts, sign up to be a portfolio reviewer, or weigh in on the overall format. Check out past Ink & Pixels events for more info.

3. Creative Community Calendar

An idea was born in our January Community Meeting: the Creative Community Calendar. It will be an aggravated source of events and topics of interest for creatives in the Baltimore area. Help us find and build the list of events and brainstorm the best format for this resource.

4. Bring Your Own!

Got a personal project or want to shake up your normal work from home routine? Come on out! Get feedback from a peer,
