"Design thinking" is a broad practice that stimulates innovation through techniques of questioning, observation, prototyping, role playing, improvisation, and lateral thinking. These creative techniques have been used in business, education, marketing, product development, and beyond. Participants in this hands-on workshop conducted by Ellen Lupton will take part in a series of short immersions into design thinking techniques, and will come away with a toolkit of methods for understanding problems and generating solutions.

Ellen has written numerous books and articles on design, including Graphic Design Thinking: Beyond Brainstorming. She is a public-minded critic, frequent lecturer, and AIGA Gold Medalist.
