Members Only: Strategic Thinking Skills for the Graphic Designer

How To Utilize Strategic Thinking for Excellence in Graphic Design

AIGA Baltimore is hosting a breakfast talk that will get your marketing gears turning! On Wednesday, August 28th at 7:00 AM, join us at CO-BALT Workspace in Hampden to learn valuable thinking skills from Marketing Director Pamela Johns.

Let's discuss the benefits of not only understanding the objectives (of What) we are trying to accomplish through good design, (you know: a strong call to action button, brand recognition, etc) but also let's discuss the strategy (the How) we should be accomplishing the objectives through good design. Your audience will not so much remember what you say in your design but they will remember how you made them feel. This talk will discuss how we do just that– MAKE THEM FEEL!

This talk will cover four key steps of this approach:

  1. Getting to the objectives (What) we are designing for
  2. Prioritizing communication
  3. Consumer research
  4. Outlining your creative strategy
